A bald eagle is never really bald; They get their name because the white feathers atop their head so starkly contrast the deep brown/black feathers of their body. Though bald eagles are a symbol for freedom in the U.S., they often steal from and harrass smaller birds. It's not hard for them to do so as their wingspan is about 7 feet and they can weigh up to 14 pounds! This bird's favorite food is fish. They can't swim, but bald eagles have been seen to row themselves over large bodies of water using their wings!
